Editable Fields
Customer name, phone, email, vehicle interest (free text), the linked vehicle from inventory, the branch, the source (walk-in, call, WhatsApp, website, referral, other), the assigned team member, free-text notes, and the next-action date plus a short note about it. All fields are saved together when you click Save.
Reassigning the Lead
Changing the assigned team member moves the lead out of the current assignee's pipeline and into the new one. They'll see it on their next page load; depending on your notification settings, ShowOps may also send them a notification. Reassignment is logged in the audit trail.
Next-Action Date
Set a next-action date to remind yourself when to follow up. If the date passes without an interaction being recorded, the lead is flagged 'overdue' on the leads list (highlighted in red). Use the note field to capture what the follow-up is about — 'send price list' or 'confirm test drive Tuesday'.
Branch and Vehicle Restrictions
If your role is scoped to specific branches, the branch dropdown and the vehicle picker only show options inside your scope. You can't reassign a lead to a branch you don't see, and you can't link a vehicle that's in a hidden branch. Admins and owners see everything.
Common questions
- Why is changing the status not on this form?
- Lead status (New, Contacted, Qualified, Converted, Lost) is changed from the lead detail page through dedicated actions — that's where lost reasons and conversion-to-deal flows live. The edit form is for the descriptive fields only.
- Can I delete a lead?
- ShowOps doesn't permanently delete leads — that would break reporting and the audit trail. Mark a lead 'Lost' with a reason instead. If a lead was created in error (e.g., test data), an admin can hide it from reports.
